係Yahoo寫blog, 唔經唔覺都寫左年半 (我都唔係好記得喇). 本身初初開始個陣, 我揀係Yahoo寫既原因係因為諗住有friend係個度寫, 大家可以keep下contact. 之後越黎越多人訂閱我個blog, 我就覺得唔錯wor, 咁多人都鍾意係Yahoo睇blog, 感覺好好.
(English: Time flies! It’s been a year and a half since I started writing at Yahoo blog (not quite sure of my time there). At first, I started there because one of my friends wrote there and I thought it would be easier to keep contact with her. After awhile, I got more and more subscribers…I thought, “hey, lucky me! So many people love reading blogs at Yahoo! Great!”. Those were the happy days.
但係係Yahoo時間越耐就覺得個blog d問題都真係好多, 例如會無啦啦delete我既blog post啦, 無端端入唔到啦, 寫完既blog piece publish唔到或者save唔到啦., upload唔到photo啦…等等 (問題真係多到我都講唔sa!). 其實我一直都唔明, Yahoo都有放d advertsement係我地既blog度, 即係話佢地唔係開善堂, 佢地比個地方我地寫野既同時佢地都有錢賺, 點解唔可以幫下手整得個blog area好少少呢. 你知啦, 有時好想寫野, login先發現原來Yahoo blog m到停工, 個下真係超級turn off!
(English: The longer I spent on Yahoo Blog, the more problems it seemed to have, e.g. it deleted my blog posts in secret without any reason; it suddenly went down for a day without prior notice it was the maintenance time (I don’t mind things being maintained as long as someone has the courtesy to tell me); I couldn’t publish/ save any finished blog posts, I couldn’t upload any photos…etc. (I could go on and on …). There is something I really don’t understand! Yahoo puts ads in our blog areas, which means they do get some revenue from our contributions, why on earth can’t they make life easier for bloggers? As you all know, sometimes, we all do get an urge to write something and what a turn off it is only to find out the blog isn’t working right?!
本身我都唔想搬, 因為儲左太多pageview,太多subscribers, 但係上兩個星期我真係忍唔住, 我login既時候發覺我個blog既background load左十年都load唔到, 仲要連續5日都係咁. 之後我同自己講, “我真係要搬, 寫blog對我黎講係一種enjoyment, 我唔想因為人地既唔professional令我enjoy少左寫blog呢個hobby!”
(English: Even I had all the reasons to, I still got used to the place and I didn’t want to move to another host! I couldn’t let go of the fact that I had too many pageviews accumulated and too many subscribers! But what triggered off the move last couple week was when I logined my Yahoo blog, I found that the background of my blog was loading forever, and the horrible fact was it was like that for 5 straight days! Then I said to myself, “I really need to move to have some peace of mind. Blog writing for me is an enjoyment and I won’t allow anything to ruin that!”)
你地睇左我咁耐都知我要做一樣野, 通常都超級快手啦. 我話搬就搬. 最後, 我都係揀左我當年用黎寫英文blog既一個host – blogger.com (好明顯啦!). 我知道無一個blog host係perfect, 但係至少其他blog host既問題真係比Yahoo少好多, 同埋個flexibility大好多.
(English: As many of you know, when I want to do something, I do it immediately. I moved the blog right there right then. And, the most interesting thing is I chose to come back where I started blog writing years ago (I started at blogger.com when I was writing in English purely). I perfectly understand none of the blog host would be perfect, but at least now I don’t have as much hassle as before! Here offers me more flexibility and peace of mind!)
