If you have followed me for a long time, you know I live in jeans and I wear them 99% of the time. I used to buy different ones from different brands but I didn’t find many of them comfortable enough on a day to day basis, until I come across Paige jeans. It was a few years ago, I saw their counter in a shopping mall in USA and I decided to get a couple pairs to try. Since then, I am hooked and I do buy online yearly. I find that Shopbop has the best selection and sizing so I usually would do my annual Paige haul from there. There are many reasons why I love them and let me go through each one with you.
Reasons Why I Love Paige Jeans
- They are comfortable. All through the years, I have collected quite a few and I have different styles, some are more stretchy than others but all of them are very comfortable, you can still eat and breathe in them and they won’t “chop you off” when you sit down. They are an absolute joy to wear.
- They are stretchy but not too much. This is very important when it comes to jeans, they give to the point that you are comfortable to go on your daily life not feeling like you are a robot but they are not stretchy to the point that after some time they start to look baggy and 2 sizes larger. Can we agree that there is no joy in having to pull your pants up every 10 steps of the way? These are stretchy enough to allow a bit of room but they never make you look like you are wearing someone else’s jeans. Plus, can we also agree that some jeans are just so loose on the knee areas (after you stretch them a few times) and they look like they have completely lost the shape? Not a good look.
- They are durable. There was this dark blue Paige pair that I wore all the time. I meant consistently for 3 years and it made the appearance 97% of the time. I absolutely adored them and 3 years later, it finally fell apart. I was sad to let it go (because the falling apart bit was on the bum lol so I couldn’t wear it any longer), but I was happy at the same time because the cost per wear was so low. Like I said all the time, I don’t mind paying a bit more for stuff if I can get the use out of them and make my money worthwhile.
- They fit. I almost take this point for granted but I should not. Fitting is still very important when it comes to jeans. I don’t know how many times I have tried some other jeans on, either the legs fit and the bum don’t fit; or it’s just way too long. Honestly I can’t be bothered with tailoring when it comes to jeans, so if I feel like I need to spend more time, money and effort in altering something, that’s a NO for me. Pleasantly surprised, every time I order a pair of Paige jeans, they fit regardless which style I go for. That tells me they take the fitting and sizing into consideration seriously.
- They save me money and space. Yes you read correctly, Paige jeans save me money. Let me explain. The price point of Paige jeans is around HK$1,200-HK$1,900 a pair, it’s not exactly cheap. I used to get jeans from Zara, Topshop or other places for just HK$299-HK$499 a pair. However, they were not as comfortable as Paige’s, so the sad story was I had many pair of jeans, but I didn’t fully utilise each one of them. So in a way, the cost per wear is still very high for these cheaper alternatives for me. However, since I got hooked into Paige jeans, I buy maybe 1-2 pair a year and that’s it. I rotate the new ones with my old pairs, and I love wearing every one of them. So, I don’t have an excessive amount of jeans at home just to take up space and I don’t itch to shop for other jeans when I am happy with my collection.
