If you have sensitive skin like me, you know exactly how incredibly hard it is to find a whitening or brightening product that is both safe and effective. When I saw that Minon Amino Moist—a Japanese brand famous for being sensitive skin-friendly launched a new blue “Brightening Milk Mask” featuring Vitamin C derivatives and amino acids, I bought it immediately to put it to the test!
Today, I want to share my thoughts on this mask. It is indeed gentle, but if you have high expectations for “whitening,” or if you’re looking for deep hydration, this one falls short on both fronts!
MASK FIT & MILKY TEXTURE (FIT & TEXTURE)
Let’s start with the physical design. The sheet mask is neither too thick nor too rough. It is large enough to cover the whole face, so you won’t experience that awkward “pizza face” situation where the edges are left bare. The adherence is actually very nice.
As for the essence, it is not a watery, dripping serum, but rather a milky, lotion-like texture that offers a moderate level of nourishment. The packaging explicitly states it targets “dry skin.” Let me make this clear right from the start: If you have oily skin or combination-oily skin, please stay far away from this mask! The milky essence feels quite rich, and oily skin types will find it too heavy and suffocating.
FLEETING BRIGHTNESS & POOR LONGEVITY (THE FATAL FLAW)
Now for the most important part: the brightening effect! The moment you take the mask off, your skin genuinely looks brighter with a translucent, hydrated glow.
However, I must point out its fatal flaw: the longevity is extremely poor! When I woke up and looked in the mirror the next morning, my skin was completely “back to square one.” It looked just as dull and ashy as before, with absolutely zero trace of the previous night’s brightness.
I understand that whitening skincare isn’t bleach; it only helps remove unwanted sallowness and dullness to reveal the natural fairness your DNA allows. But for a brightening mask, if the effect only lasts for the moment right after application and does absolutely nothing to help your skin’s radiance for your morning makeup, it honestly feels like a disappointment.

Its brightening effects are fleeting, and when it comes to deep hydration, it cannot hold a candle to the brand’s own legendary holy grail—the Pink “Moist Essential Mask”. If you are looking for an incredibly comfortable, deeply hydrating mask for sensitive skin, skip this blue one entirely and buy the classic pink version instead. It hydrates better, meaning there’s absolutely no reason to waste your money on this mediocre blue version.
