Medicube Age-R Booster Pro:

(My Favorite! 🏆) 🟠

Tips:

【English Version】Medicube Age-R Booster Pro Review: Is it Worth the Hype?
Hello everyone! I owe you this review for a long time, and finally, here it is.
First, a disclaimer: I purchased this device with my own money.
I usually don’t emphasize this, but Medicube has so many ads and sponsored videos out there. To give you peace of mind, I want to clarify: this post is 100% unsponsored. These are my genuine thoughts paid for with my own cash.
The Medicube Age-R Booster Pro claims to be a “6-in-1” device. It sounds impressive, but is it worth buying? Which modes actually work? And who should absolutely avoid it? Let’s break it down!
The Functions: 4 Modes, Hit or Miss?
This device features 4 main modes. After testing them for a while, here is my verdict:
1. ATS (Blue): Pore Care Mode 🔵
- How to use: Use on dry skin after washing, no product needed.
- My Verdict: Honestly, I felt nothing with this mode. My pores aren’t particularly large, so I didn’t see much difference. I don’t feel qualified to judge if it works for others, but for me, this isn’t why I bought the device.
2. Booster (Orange): Glow Mode (My Favorite! 🏆) 🟠
- How to use: Use with skincare products to boost absorption.
- My Verdict: This is my absolute favorite mode! Every time I use it, Mr. Honey asks, “Why is your face glowing?” Even a man can see the difference, so you know it works.
- Results: It gives an instant “translucent glow” to the skin. This glow lasts until the next morning. If you stayed up late and look tired, this mode is a lifesaver.
3. Micro Current (Green): Elasticity Mode (Runner-up 🥈) 🟢
- How to use: Use with cream or moisturizer.
- My Verdict: This is my second favorite. It focuses on “plumping.”
- Results: When you are tired, and your apple cheeks look a bit “sad” or saggy, using this for a few minutes really helps. You can feel the skin becoming plumper and tighter. It won’t fix severe sagging, but for daily maintenance, it works.
4. EMS (Red): Contour Mode 🔴
- How to use: I typically use this mode right after the Micro Current mode. Since my face is still coated with the rich cream from the previous step, I don’t need to apply any additional skincare.
- My Verdict: To be honest, I bought the device mainly for this function, but it turned out to be the most disappointing.
- Results: I tested it for a month and saw no visible lifting effect. Compared to the instant results of the Micro Current mode, EMS felt useless on my face.
Product Pairing: Texture Matters!
Many people think the device doesn’t work, but it’s often because they use the wrong skincare texture.
- ❌ Watery/Fast-Absorbing Serums: Do NOT use these! They absorb too quickly, making the device drag on your skin. This friction can actually create wrinkles.
- ✅ Recommended Texture: Choose products that are thicker in texture.
- For Booster Mode: Abib Heartleaf Essence or CSS Soothing B5 Gel. These have a thicker consistency, so you don’t need to apply a huge amount (which can end up being too sticky), yet they allow the device to glide perfectly smooth.
- For Micro Current Mode: Any Gel Cream or rich moisturizer you have at home. I use the mTm Labo Reishi cream because it has a bit of oil, allowing the device to glide effortlessly.
💡 Pro Tip:
I also love using the Booster Mode after removing a Paper Mask. When there is still plenty of essence left on your face, use the device to massage it in and enhance absorption further. Or, you can glide it directly over a Cream Mask. It works wonders!
Who Should AVOID This? (The Warning Zone ⚠️)
If you are currently suffering from active sensitive skin, Rosacea flare-ups, or Eczema, please save your money immediately.
This device uses sonic vibration and electrical stimulation, which is a burden on fragile skin.
Even though my Rosacea is stable, my skin still gets red patches occasionally after using it. If your skin is inflamed, you don’t need this device; you need an LED Mask (like CurrentBody) to calm your skin first. Heal your skin barrier before chasing advanced treatments.
Conclusion: Is it Worth It?
Price: Official site is ~HK$2,000. YesStyle promos can go down to ~HK$1,500 – HK$1,600.
Final Verdict:
If your skin is stable, you aren’t too lazy (can commit to 2-3 times a week), and you want that Glow and Plumpness, then paying HK$1,600 for the Booster and Micro Current functions is worth it.
But if you are buying it solely for “Pore Shrinking” or “V-Shape Lifting,” or if you have super sensitive skin, I suggest you reconsider or invest your money elsewhere
