It’s one of those moments again – it’s one of those exciting moments that I am in the English mode. Yes, a new face of www.hakmebeauty.com and yes, I am really proud. My blogging life has been a long journey and it’s always close to my heart. Who would have thought the blog started in 2009 would survive all the ups and downs and now has a brand new “face lift”? I am still indeed speechless…
I have to admit that nothing seems to come easy for us, including this new “face lift”. We were approached by a local IT company back in mid-2015 and decided to work with them on the revamp. However, things went sour in the sense that nothing was up to our standard and the work was lousy. Well, there was a lot of heartache and disappointment involved but that didn’t shake our determination to brush off the dust and try again. Yes, like most things in life. If option A doesn’t turn out, you always need to formulate and activate option B and maybe C. Long story short, we found the person, the one that makes all these happen. A gigantic thank you to him for bringing our vision to live and it’s very satisfying to be able to see my vision with my own eyes. It’s been 7 months and I would gladly say this is one of those things that’s worth waiting for.
If you follow me on Facebook, you probably noticed the Snapchat stories a couple days ago documenting my excitement. The funny thing is that the job didn’t just end with designing, coding, activating …etc., I literally had to categorise 1553 pieces of blog posts back into their relevant categories in the new “face lift”. Me being me, I don’t like to drag things out, so I spent a day, yes literally a day sitting in front of my computer revisiting old blog posts and tagged them into place. As much as my eye balls and fingers were busy glancing and clicking away, I also found myself being amazed by the fact that how far I have come and how much my writing style have changed throughout the years. The past, the current and the new all inspire me to constantly improve.
A big shout out to all of you who actually read what I write over the years. A MASSIVE THANK YOU!!! Without you, this place wouldn’t be as warm and vibrant and without you, this place wouldn’t challenge my thoughts and inspire me to constantly raise the bar. So thank you, thank you for inspiring me to be a better version of me.
7 years ago, I was upset with my life; 7 years ago, I didn’t know what “follow my dream” meant; and 7 years ago, I discovered an outlet to share my passion. Now, 7 years later, I found my voice; 7 years later, I am living and breathing the things that I love every single day; and 7 years later, I am seeing my dream in reality with my own eyes.
So, who knows? I didn’t know. I didn’t know one decision that I made 7 years ago would make such a big difference. So next time, when “what if I CAN’T…” pops into your head, please… quickly tell yourself “BUT what if I CAN!” You are never too far off if you follow what interests you, and please do not let “overanalysing” get in your way.
This new “face lift” represents start-off of another exciting chapter for us and I have been brain storming already… Definitely stay tuned for more.
